Dynamic Metals Ltd (ASX:DYM) has begun its lithium exploration program at Pioneer Dome West (PDW), part of the larger Widgiemooltha Project in a lithium-rich part of the Goldfields Region of Western Australia.
As part of a reconnaissance exploration program, up to 2,000 soil samples will be taken from PDW, which is said to be highly prospective for lithium-caesium-tantalum (LCT) pegmatites.
The tenement covers 20 kilometres of highly prospective strike along the western side of Essential Metals’ Dome North Lithium Project, which hosts a mineral resource of 11.2 million tonnes at 1.2% lithium oxide.
Soil sampling program
The PDW target is on E15/1721 and is along the highly prospective western side of the Pioneer Dome.
Previous exploration activities were focused on gold and nickel potential, so limited historical geochemical information on lithium exists across the tenement.
Soil samples will be taken every 40 metres on 400-metre spaced lines to obtain geochemical data coverage across the interpreted greenstone sequence flanked on the east by the Pioneer Dome granite and to the west by regional granites.
It is estimated the program will take about four weeks to complete.
Targets generated following the receipt of assays will be assessed and priority ranked for drill testing later in the year.
Forward plan
Permitting for the next phase of drilling at Widgiemooltha is underway at the Democrat nickel prospect and is expected to be undertaken post-completion of this soil sampling program.
Dynamic is awaiting assay results from 48 aircore holes drilled across the Sunday Soak nickel and the Mandilla and Higginsville gold prospects, with these results anticipated to be returned by the end of July.
