Headlines:
- New Leadership Appointment: Kerri Hayman, sister of Domino’s Pizza Enterprises (ASX: DMP) CEO Don Meij, has been named as the new head of the company’s operations in Australia and New Zealand. Hayman, who brings 36 years of experience with the chain, will oversee local operations effective immediately.
- Focus on International Markets: The appointment allows Don Meij to concentrate on international markets, which have struggled recently, particularly in Japan and France. Domino’s plans to close nearly 10% of stores in these regions and undertake a strategic review, impacting its long-term store growth targets.
- Share Performance and Experience: Domino’s shares have dropped significantly from a peak of $165 in 2021 to $33. Despite this, Hayman’s leadership is expected to leverage her extensive experience to enhance customer satisfaction and strengthen relationships with franchise partners and store managers.
Domino’s Pizza Enterprises (ASX: DMP) Appoints Don Meij’s Sister, Kerri Hayman, as New CEO for Australia and New Zealand. Kerri Hayman, the sister of Domino’s Pizza Enterprises chief executive Don Meij, has been appointed as the new head of the company’s operations in Australia and New Zealand, effective immediately. Hayman, who has a 36-year tenure with the pizza chain, including a role as operations director for the UK-listed Domino’s, returns to lead local operations after a stint in the US, where she sold her 14 Domino’s stores last year.
This move is expected to allow Don Meij to focus on Domino’s international markets, which have faced challenges and missed store growth targets in Japan and France. In response, Domino’s announced plans to close nearly 10% of stores in these regions and conduct a strategic review, impacting its long-term store growth goals.
Domino’s shares have declined to $33 from a peak of $165 in 2021. Despite this, Domino’s chairman and major shareholder Jack Cowin expressed confidence in Hayman’s leadership, emphasizing her deep-rooted experience within the company.
Hayman, who began her career as a pizza maker under Don Meij’s management, has previously led Domino’s to achieve the highest customer satisfaction and product quality scores in over three years. She aims to leverage her extensive experience to strengthen relationships with franchise partners, store managers, and customers while addressing current operational challenges.
