Discovery Alaska Ltd (ASX:DAF, OTC:DRVYF) has conducted a review of the Vinasale Gold Project within the prolific Tintina Gold Province of Alaska, USA, with exploration planning underway aimed at expanding the resource and follow-up additional anomalous areas.
The project hosts a historic NI 43-101 inferred resource of 22 million tonnes at 1.53 g/t for 1.08 million ounces of gold and an indicated resource of 2.29 million tonnes at 1.84 g/t for 135,000 ounces (using 1g/t cut-off grades) at the Central Zone prospect.
Vinasale, which is around 310 kilometres northwest of Anchorage, spans around 6,500 hectares on lands owned by Doyon Ltd, an Alaska Native Regional Corporation.

Review conducted
Having secured a mining lease agreement with Doyon, the company has conducted a review of the historic resource block model, identified follow-up target areas from historical geological and geophysical datasets, and is planning a forward work exploration program for the next phase of work.
A technical consultant has been appointed to drive exploration at Vinasale.
Initial work on the dataset involved an audit of the existing resource block model against the drill hole data to identify and confirm correlation, by comparing block values with drill assay composites in cross-sectional views. This work has confirmed the block model and drilling results are well correlated.
The company has also identified additional targets from the existing drill and geophysical data. These may represent separate zones of mineralisation to expand the current resource in the Central Zone, and to the south and east of previous drilling, to determine the limits of mineralisation in this direction and testing depth extensions.
These targets are supported by previous drill information and geophysical information, including induced polarisation features and resistivity anomalies.
Additional features have also been identified as having low resistivity. The structures’ orientation aligns with some of the larger regional lineaments within the regional area.
These are associated with fault zones and vein systems that have formed between the very large-scale faults (the Denali-Farewell and the Kaltag-Tintana) that form the boundaries of the Tintana Province.

The company says these prospective areas are all immediate target areas that are being followed up with further desktop evaluation and planning for site ground-truthing works.
