** Lynas Rare Earths Ltd LYC.AX said it had signed an agreement to build a commercial light rare earths separation plant in Texas, at a time Washington is pushing to secure domestic supply of essential minerals that China currently dominates. Japanese cosmetics firm Shiseido Co Ltd 4911.T said it was in talks to sell its lower-priced skincare and shampoo brands to private equity firm CVC Capital Partners in a deal reported to be valued at more than $1.45 billion. Chinese budget phone maker Honor has signed partnerships with major chip suppliers such as Intel INTC.O and Qualcomm QCOM.O after being spun off from under-fire parent Huawei Technologies in a bid to save it last year, it said. French media company Vivendi VIV.PA said it agreed to buy a 7.6% stake in Spanish rival Prisa, sending shares in the owner of Spain's influential El Pais newspaper up 10% at opening. The independent directors of Malaysian palm oil giant FGV Holdings FGVH.KL urged investors on Friday to reject a takeover bid by top shareholder Felda, saying its offer price was unfair, though an external adviser called it reasonable. Taiwan's Globalwafers 6488.TWO raised its takeover offer for Germany's Siltronic by 450 million euros ($547 million) as it tries to win over shareholders in its bid to create a leading player in the global wafer industry. French firms Alstom ALSO.PA and Egis along with China's Power Construction Corporation 601669.SS on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to build a metro in Belgrade, Serbia's finance minister announced. Inter RAO IRAO.MM should snap up the Russian fossil-fuel assets of Germany's Uniper UN01.DE and Finland's Fortum FORTUM.HE , shareholder Odey said, adding such a deal would boost the Russian energy group's profits and shares.
