Cyclone Metals Ltd (ASX:CLE) has recovered nugget specimens of up to 712 grams of gold at the Nickol River Project in WA, confirming the presence of a gold-bearing quartz reef system with a sampling program over several test pits on the tenure.
The area has been successfully mined for eluvial (disseminated) gold for some 140 years and Cyclone believes it has potentially discovered the primary gold from which the eluvial mineralisation originated.
Overall, the company’s program of works revealed an extensive quartz reef system with gold nuggets in every pit tested in the program, offering an attractive exploration target for a drilling program.
Drilling program to follow in near future
“It is with great pleasure I confirm that an extensive quartz reef system exists throughout the Nickol River Project test pit program area, that hosts coarse gold in nugget and specimen form,” Cyclone Metals director Will Scott said.
“This bodes well for a drill program in the near future utilising the Sub-Audio Magnetic SAM interpretation from Southern Geoscience Consultants, and information gained from the test pit program.”
