CuFe Ltd (ASX:CUF) is buoyed by strong gold and base metals drilling results returned by Auris Minerals Ltd (ASX:AUR) at the Morck Well Project in Western Australia, which enhance the company’s 20% interest in the project.
Aircore drilling completed in May 2023 has returned up to 15 metres at 4.11 g/t gold from 35 metres, including 4 metres at 12.8 g/t from 38 metres in hole JEAC0001 and 10 metres at 1.49 g/t from 45 metres in hole JEAC0002.
High-grade gold
The results from Jacques East prospect have defined high-grade, supergene gold mineralisation over 70 metres laterally on section with this prospect remaining open along strike to northeast and southwest for up to 400 metres.
Providing even further encouragement for Auris as well as CuFe are the base metal and manganese results returned from the McLean Well prospect.
Manganese and base metals
Drill hole MCAC0004 returned 74 metres at 12.9% manganese from 49 metres including 6 metres at 24.4% manganese from 66 metres.
It also returned 35 metres at 1.05% zinc from 64 metres, including 5 metres at 1.79 g/t zinc from 76 metres and, in turn, including 1 metre at 4.10% zinc, as well as 5 metres at 1.46% lead from 58 metres and 6 metres at 1.32% lead from 58 metres.
Base metals and manganese anomalism at McLean Well has now been returned over an 800-metre strike extent and remains open to the northeast.
20% interest
The Morck Well Project tenements E51/1033, E52/1613 and E52/1672, which are 130 kilometres north of Meekatharra in the Bryah Basin, are 80% held by Auris and 20% by CuFe, which is free carried until a decision to mine.
As well as the ever-reliable gold, the manganese and base metals endowment of Morck Well is set to play a role in the global demand for critical minerals as momentum builds rapidly in the electric vehicle and green energy sectors.
“A great outcome”
Auris managing director Mike Hendriks said: “Auris is pleased to report that all results have been received from the recently completed aircore drilling program focusing on gold, base metal and manganese targets.
"Significant results have been returned from drilling completed within the Morck Well Project including significant gold results at Jacques East and base metals and manganese results at McLean Well.
"Mineralisation at both prospects remain open along strike requiring further evaluation which is a great outcome and provides an exciting opportunity for the company."
