July 16 (Reuters) - Engineering company CIMIC Group CIM.AX said on Monday its construction arm CPB Contractors and alliance partners have received a contract worth A$1 billion ($742.4 million) as part of the Metro Tunnel Project in Melbourne.
CPB and peer John Holland are equal construction partners in the Rail Infrastructure Alliance, with U.S. counterpart AECOM as the design partner, CIMIC said.
Revenue to CPB from the design and construction deal will be confirmed when the contract closes in the coming months, CIMIC said, but did not give further details on the contract from the Victorian Government.
Construction is expected to be completed in 2025, the company said in a statement. ($1 = 1.3470 Australian dollars)
