Calling Jack Dorsey, the one man to mend Musk’s mishaps

Former free speech advocate and part-time auto salesman Elon Musk has been given the boot by his legion of followers, having voted him out of his role as Chief Twit in a landslide poll.

His US$44bn social media plaything is also in deep trouble and faces bankruptcy, a fact he reiterated to superstar podcaster Lex Fridman in a recent Twitter back and forth.

Worse still, the poor guy (figuratively speaking) had to endure the company of Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner for Sunday’s thriller of a World Cup final.

With punches coming in left, right and centre, what are the odds that Musk’s hand is hovering over his predecessor Jack Dorsey’s phone number for a few tips?

Would Dorsey even answer the call to arms? After all, Twitter banned the promotion of all rival social media platforms, including Facebook (NASDAQ:META), Mastodon and Kushner’s daddy-in-law Donald Trump’s Truth Social soapbox.

The typically reserved Dorsey, who is currently helping blockchain-based social media platform Nostr get off the ground, joined the chorus of people questioning the policy change.

As is becoming a daily occurrence, Musk bowed to pressure and u-turned the policy with a speed that would make Liz Truss blush.

It is unclear if Kushner played any part in the decision.

This all sounds deeply stressful, so it could be a bittersweet outcome if Musk does indeed get strongarmed into resigning as Chief Twit.

That would leave the door open for another Chief Twit… Could Dorsey be poised to return?

After all, it wouldn’t be the first or even second time he hoodwinked us by quitting and returning. He really does seem to be the only one capable of running that thing.
