Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BRK) has identified the primary producing horizon in the Juanita Well in the company’s expanded Bradbury Area of Interest (AOI) within the Arbuckle Uplift-Ardmore Basin in Oklahoma’s Anadarko Basin.
The initial well log interpretation that identified the primary production reservoir in the Bromide Formation of the Simpson Group comes after the completion of wireline logging operations.
Brookside and US operating subsidiary Black Mesa, LLC, are now preparing to complete this horizon for production by setting production casing and building of surface facilities.
As well log interpretation continues, follow-on potential producers have also been identified.
On the move
Managing director David Prentice said: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to report that the primary target in our first well in the Bradbury AOI has come in and we have moved quickly to make the decision to run production casing and test this zone.
“In addition, logs have been acquired across all of the pre-drill target zones, including the secondary and tertiary targets that lie predominantly above the Bromide.
“While we have not yet completed a full assessment of the suite of logs we are encouraged by early indications and look forward to providing further details of other potentially productive zones as this work is completed."
Planned activity
Brookside will now proceed to complete well log interpretation along with preparing for the setting of production casing and building production facilities.
Juanita is a low-cost vertical well operated by Black Mesa and drilled by Dan D Drilling Rig 7. It was drilled as a vertical well to a measured depth of around 6,350 feet.
The well is targeting 10 potential oil reservoirs, including zones from within the highly productive Simpson Group, all of which are proven producers in the area.
Mean cumulative production from vertical wells in the Bradbury AOI is about 130 MBO per well, including a 744 MBO producer less than a mile east of the Juanita Well.
