Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BRK) expects to next week recommence drilling of the Juanita Well within its expanded Bradbury Area of Interest (AOI) in the Arbuckle Uplift-Ardmore Basin in Oklahoma.
This well was temporarily suspended at the end of November 2022 after encountering an over-pressured zone in the sandstones of the Springer Group at around 3,500 feet true vertical depth (TVD).
Mobilisation this week
Dan D Drilling’s Rig 7 is expected to be mobilised to the site this week and will then be set up and tested, before re-entry of the well.
This rig was identified by the team from Black Mesa, LLC, the company’s US operating subsidiary, as meeting the requirements to operate in the encountered pressure regime following the temporary suspension of drilling operations due to over-pressure.
Better suited
Black Mesa considers this rig is better suited for the over-pressured regime encountered while previously drilling the Juanita Well.
Oil shows and elevated gas readings had already been observed in the Sycamore formation, the first of 10 targeted potential reservoirs.
About Juanita Well
The Juanita Well will be drilled as a vertical well to a TVD) of around 6,450 feet.
It is targeting 10 potential oil reservoirs, including zones from within the highly productive Simpson Group, all of which are proven producers in the area, with mean cumulative production from vertical wells in the Bradbury AOI of about 130 MBO per well, including a 744 MBO producer less than a mile east of the Juanita Well location.
