Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BRK) has reached total depth (TD) of around 6,350 feet at the Juanita Well in Oklahoma’s Anadarko Basin with extensive oil shows and elevated gas reading observed in all 10 potential reservoirs in the primary, secondary and tertiary targets.
Juanita is a low-cost vertical well operated by Black Mesa, LLC, a controlled subsidiary of Brookside, and being drilled by Dan D Drilling Rig 7 in Brookside’s expanded Bradbury Area of Interest (AOI) within the Arbuckle Uplift-Ardmore Basin AOI.
Preparations have now begun to commence wireline logging operations at Juanita to acquire a full suite of logs across the target zones.
Encouraged by results
Brookside managing director David Prentice said: “It is very pleasing to successfully reach TD in this, our first well in this exciting new area of interest.
“We are encouraged by the results seen in the mud logs and are eagerly awaiting the results from the wireline logging operations.
“We look forward to providing further updates as operations continue on the Juanita Well.”
Logging preparations
Brookside and Black Mesa will now run a full logging suite and, subject to results, begin operations to run and set production casing.
This well is targeting 10 potential oil reservoirs, including zones from within the highly productive Simpson Group.
All reservoirs are proven producers in the area, with mean cumulative production from vertical wells in the Bradbury AOI of ~130 MBO per well, including a 744 MBO producer less than a mile east of the Juanita Well location.
