Brookside Energy Ltd (ASX:BRK) has achieved a peak production test rate of 258 barrels of oil equivalent per day (BOEPD), with a high oil composition of 78%, from its secondary target sand in the Juanita Well in Oklahoma.
This development is part of the ongoing production testing taking place within the Simpson Group in the expanded Bradbury Area of Interest (AOI) within Arbuckle Uplift – Ardmore Basin.
This peak rate follows the successful test of a lower horizon that generated a peak production test rate of 329 BOEPD (75% oil).
Given the positive outcomes of these production tests, Brookside and the team from US operating subsidiary Black Mesa Energy are now actively working on optimising development scenarios for these two zones.
Moving forward, the current plan anticipates that production will be focused on these two zones initially with testing of the remaining horizons to occur in the future.
Plan to establish commercial production
Brookside managing director David Prentice said: “We are once again pleased to report these very encouraging test results from our Juanita Well, our first well in this new AOI.
“These results come on the back of the earlier positive results from the test of the deeper primary target.
“The team is now busy working on the plan to establish commercial production from these two zones and we look forward to providing further updates as production and sales are established.”
