Boadicea Resources Ltd (ASX:BOA) has rustled up two new lithium targets for exploration at the Cat Camp Project in a proven lithium region of Western Australia using a recent geochemical survey of 707 samples across the tenure to hone in on the prospective areas.

The larger 1-kilometre by 2-kilometre anomaly remains open for exploration with potential to increase in size and both are coincident with previous regional drilling, which identified pegmatite formations up to 17 metres thick.

There has been limited lithium exploration on the tenure previously, with historical drilling targeting mostly nickel mineralisation, but there were several shallow pegmatite intersections in said drilling that could be mapped to surface.

Exploration drilling to come

“The result of the geochemical survey provides the first indication of the potential of the pegmatites to host lithium mineralisation,” Boadicea Resources managing director Jon Reynolds said.

“We are pushing hard to drill these targets as soon as possible and look forward to updating shareholders as we advance Cat Camp.”

The company is now planning its follow-up campaign, keen to test these anomalies due to their highly prospective geology within greenstone lithologies.

Further proving the area's potential, Cat Camp sits within a northern extension of the Lake Johnston greenstone belt, which hosts the:

  • Mt Day Lithium Project (Lefroy Exploration);
  • Lake Percy Lithium Project (Dynamic Metals); and
  • Medcalf Project (Charger Metals)
