Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.90% to hit a new 3-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Elia (BR:ELI), which rose 1.05% or 0.485 points to trade at 46.460 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 0.07% or 0.01 points to end at 13.85 and Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to 110.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 4.54% or 2.150 points to trade at 45.200 in late trade. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) declined 2.86% or 1.11 points to end at 37.73 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 2.46% or 1.195 points to 47.330.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 123 to 19 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 1.60% or 20.55 to $1308.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 3.33% or 1.60 to hit $46.41 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 3.35% or 1.64 to trade at $47.33 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.73% to 1.1178, while EUR/GBP fell 0.20% to 0.7910.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.54% at 95.18.
