Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Consumer Services and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.81%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 2.14% or 1.210 points to trade at 57.790 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) added 0.86% or 0.110 points to end at 12.960 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.69% or 0.85 points to 124.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which lost 4.37% or 4.28 points to trade at 93.76 in late trade. Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD) declined 2.71% or 0.51 points to end at 18.11 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) shed 1.81% or 0.90 points to 48.92.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 95 to 54 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.55% or 6.40 to $1167.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 4.41% or 2.18 to hit $51.62 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 4.90% or 2.54 to trade at $54.38 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.0626, while EUR/GBP fell 0.30% to 0.8442.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 101.29.
