Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.44%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 1.42% or 1.60 points to trade at 113.95 at the close. Umicore NV (BR:UMI) added 0.24% or 0.13 points to end at 54.50 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.50% or 0.55 points to 110.45 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ageas (BR:AGES), which lost 2.21% or 0.680 points to trade at 30.110 in late trade. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 1.46% or 1.06 points to end at 71.48 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 1.75% or 0.185 points to 10.385.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 55 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.67% or 9.15 to $1348.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $48.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.57% or 0.29 to trade at $50.60 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.1319, while EUR/GBP rose 0.66% to 0.8679.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.47% at 94.55.
