Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which rose 1.74% or 0.93 points to trade at 54.27 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 0.65% or 0.440 points to end at 68.650 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.58% or 0.80 points to 138.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 1.32% or 0.62 points to trade at 46.27 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 0.93% or 0.560 points to end at 59.900 and Ageas (BR:AGES) shed 0.91% or 0.335 points to 36.475.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 51 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.07% or 0.85 to $1227.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.34% or 0.18 to hit $53.15 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 0.02% or 0.01 to trade at $55.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.0586, while EUR/GBP rose 0.20% to 0.8649.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 101.65.
