Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Financials, Consumer Goods and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which rose 1.62% or 0.76 points to trade at 47.27 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 1.34% or 0.33 points to end at 24.95 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 1.29% or 1.30 points to 102.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included KBC (BR:KBC), which lost 2.54% or 1.480 points to trade at 56.900 in late trade. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 1.95% or 0.95 points to end at 47.80 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) shed 1.28% or 1.60 points to 123.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 78 to 69 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.29% or 3.55 to $1225.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 4.71% or 2.04 to hit $45.36 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 4.25% or 1.89 to trade at $46.32 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.09% to 1.0727, while EUR/GBP rose 0.52% to 0.8639.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.16% at 100.19.
