Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which rose 0.80% or 0.90 points to trade at 114.10 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 0.62% or 0.26 points to end at 42.06 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 0.47% or 0.15 points to 32.19 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 2.39% or 0.91 points to trade at 36.88 in late trade. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 0.73% or 0.72 points to end at 97.42 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) shed 0.66% or 0.15 points to 23.30.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 75 to 61 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.75 to $1326.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.83% or 0.87 to hit $46.77 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 1.73% or 0.87 to trade at $49.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.1176, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8544.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.19% at 95.66.
