Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 1.09% or 0.62 points to trade at 57.66 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) added 0.92% or 0.480 points to end at 52.880 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 0.40% or 0.045 points to 11.330 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which lost 2.15% or 2.52 points to trade at 114.67 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 2.08% or 1.230 points to end at 57.870 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) shed 1.43% or 1.75 points to 120.90.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 91 to 54 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was up 0.02% or 0.25 to $1255.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.19% or 0.60 to hit $49.75 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.06% or 0.55 to trade at $51.40 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.23% to 1.0997, while EUR/GBP rose 0.24% to 0.9025.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 97.90.
