Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 2.31%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 2.63% or 0.64 points to trade at 25.00 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) fell 0.25% or 0.11 points to end at 43.60 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was down 0.44% or 0.60 points to 136.60 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which lost 2.83% or 2.49 points to trade at 85.53 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 2.70% or 2.540 points to end at 91.640 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) shed 2.64% or 1.60 points to 59.10.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 79 to 30 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 0.61% or 8.00 to $1322.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March fell 1.55% or 0.96 to hit $60.83 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract fell 1.33% or 0.87 to trade at $64.64 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.17% to 1.2241, while EUR/GBP fell 0.48% to 0.8794.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 90.22.
