Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 2.03% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 3.65% or 2.10 points to trade at 59.60 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 0.48% or 0.08 points to end at 16.83 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.05% or 0.02 points to 44.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ageas (BR:AGES), which lost 5.43% or 2.500 points to trade at 43.520 in late trade. UCB (BR:UCB) declined 4.05% or 3.06 points to end at 72.54 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) shed 2.68% or 1.02 points to 36.97.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 109 to 15 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 2.49% or 29.70 to $1223.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 2.17% or 1.59 to hit $71.58 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 2.31% or 1.92 to trade at $81.17 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.50% to 1.1580, while EUR/GBP rose 0.45% to 0.8772.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.40% at 94.84.
