Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.29% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 0.16% or 0.12 points to trade at 75.56 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) fell 0.16% or 0.02 points to end at 12.65 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was down 0.33% or 0.16 points to 47.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which lost 4.83% or 3.10 points to trade at 61.10 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 3.52% or 3.200 points to end at 87.800 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) shed 2.83% or 1.29 points to 44.37.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 97 to 13 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 1.29% or 15.60 to $1190.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.69% or 0.51 to hit $73.83 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.96% or 0.81 to trade at $83.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.41% to 1.1477, while EUR/GBP rose 0.09% to 0.8787.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.22% at 95.52.
