Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 1.03% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 0.64% or 0.10 points to trade at 14.88 at the close. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) fell 0.02% or 0.01 points to end at 44.64 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was down 0.12% or 0.050 points to 40.455 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 5.10% or 4.240 points to trade at 78.850 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 3.97% or 1.84 points to end at 44.62 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) shed 3.68% or 1.03 points to 26.98.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 90 to 22 and 13 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.24% or 3.12 to $1286.82 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.67% or 0.38 to hit $57.19 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.65% or 0.41 to trade at $63.90 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.44% to 1.1646, while EUR/GBP rose 0.25% to 0.8862.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 94.40.
