Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.98% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 0.36% or 0.270 points to trade at 76.080 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 0.22% or 0.21 points to end at 97.11 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) was up 0.10% or 0.04 points to 47.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which lost 1.94% or 2.90 points to trade at 146.35 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.75% or 0.25 points to end at 14.03 and Ageas (BR:AGES) shed 1.75% or 0.685 points to 38.530.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 97 to 16 and 10 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.34% or 4.50 to $1319.80 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.33% or 0.62 to hit $45.95 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.16% or 0.08 to trade at $51.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.33% to 1.2018, while EUR/GBP rose 0.36% to 0.9295.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 91.98.
