Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.98% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 4.76% or 3.230 points to trade at 71.060 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) fell 0.32% or 0.07 points to end at 23.09 and KBC (BR:KBC) was down 0.39% or 0.270 points to 69.090 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which lost 2.75% or 4.20 points to trade at 148.60 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 2.49% or 1.07 points to end at 41.83 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 1.60% or 0.48 points to 29.61.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 92 to 15 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.25% or 3.17 to $1293.27 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.37% or 0.18 to hit $48.41 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.33% or 0.17 to trade at $51.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1814, while EUR/GBP rose 0.13% to 0.9084.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 93.03.
