Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.94%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB), which rose 0.14% or 0.15 points to trade at 106.15 at the close. KBC (BR:KBC) fell 0.13% or 0.070 points to end at 54.490 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was down 0.17% or 0.055 points to 33.010 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Koninklijke Ahold Delhaize NV (AS:AD), which lost 2.44% or 0.50 points to trade at 20.00 in late trade. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) declined 2.03% or 1.02 points to end at 49.16 and Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) shed 1.99% or 0.27 points to 13.07.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 98 to 50 and 7 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.16% or 1.95 to $1251.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.67% or 0.84 to hit $49.60 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.81% or 0.95 to trade at $51.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.07% to 1.1157, while EUR/GBP rose 1.62% to 0.8981.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.18% at 96.83.
