Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Industrials and Consumer Services sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.74% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which rose 0.54% or 0.10 points to trade at 19.41 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 0.15% or 0.02 points to end at 13.15 and Telenet Group (BR:TNET) was up 0.10% or 0.04 points to 40.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included bpost NV (BR:BPOST), which lost 3.03% or 0.41 points to trade at 13.12 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 2.64% or 0.97 points to end at 35.84 and Ageas (BR:AGES) shed 1.78% or 0.770 points to 42.440.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 37 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.83% or 10.40 to $1244.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.31% or 0.23 to hit $73.92 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 1.84% or 1.46 to trade at $77.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.66% to 1.1607, while EUR/GBP fell 0.09% to 0.8841.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.58% at 94.78.
