Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 1.09% or 0.88 points to trade at 81.40 at the close. Sofina (BR:SOF) added 0.69% or 1.00 points to end at 146.20 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 0.64% or 0.75 points to 117.05 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which lost 6.34% or 3.01 points to trade at 44.44 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 3.02% or 1.25 points to end at 40.15 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 2.00% or 1.420 points to 69.720.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 45 and 28 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 1.09% or 14.10 to $1303.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 1.04% or 0.75 to hit $71.09 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.65% or 0.52 to trade at $79.28 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.28% to 1.1729, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.8764.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.70.
