Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Industrials, Utilities and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.62%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 0.63% or 0.14 points to trade at 22.24 at the close. Sofina (BR:SOF) added 0.54% or 0.80 points to end at 148.20 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) was up 0.31% or 0.25 points to 80.10 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 3.75% or 1.56 points to trade at 40.03 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) declined 1.17% or 0.16 points to end at 13.50 and Groupe Bruxelles Lambert SA (BR:GBLB) shed 1.08% or 1.00 points to 91.36.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 69 to 44 and 22 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to $1303.00 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in July fell 0.65% or 0.43 to hit $65.52 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract fell 1.10% or 0.85 to trade at $76.47 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.19% to 1.1776, while EUR/GBP fell 0.07% to 0.8784.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.53.
