Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Technology, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.58%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which rose 2.18% or 0.91 points to trade at 42.50 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 0.60% or 0.14 points to end at 23.57 and Cofinimmo-Sicafi (BR:COFB) was up 0.23% or 0.25 points to 107.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which lost 1.21% or 0.185 points to trade at 15.080 in late trade. Umicore NV (BR:UMI) declined 1.18% or 0.76 points to end at 63.42 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 0.93% or 0.650 points to 69.220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 62 to 44 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.35% or 4.48 to $1296.08 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.83% or 0.89 to hit $47.77 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.88% or 0.99 to trade at $51.73 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1815, while EUR/GBP rose 0.27% to 0.9158.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 93.01.
