Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Technology, Consumer Goods and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.55%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were UCB (BR:UCB), which rose 1.89% or 1.12 points to trade at 60.34 at the close. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) added 0.87% or 0.25 points to end at 28.83 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.75% or 1.10 points to 147.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.11% or 1.830 points to trade at 84.780 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.31% or 0.200 points to end at 15.115 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 1.17% or 1.20 points to 101.20.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 59 to 47 and 14 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.20% or 2.64 to $1326.66 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.34% or 0.17 to hit $49.72 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.06 to trade at $55.41 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.32% to 1.1957, while EUR/GBP fell 0.98% to 0.8809.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.25% at 91.81.
