Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Healthcare sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.48%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ageas (BR:AGES), which rose 0.15% or 0.060 points to trade at 39.575 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 0.05% or 0.01 points to end at 29.66 and NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) was up 0.02% or 0.01 points to 40.33 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which lost 1.70% or 1.11 points to trade at 64.18 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 1.41% or 0.41 points to end at 28.95 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 1.36% or 1.37 points to 99.08.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 65 to 40 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.15% or 1.93 to $1294.33 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 2.65% or 1.25 to hit $48.34 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 2.92% or 1.49 to trade at $52.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.20% to 1.1747, while EUR/GBP rose 0.29% to 0.9136.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.43.
