Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.43% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 0.58% or 0.410 points to trade at 71.540 at the close. Umicore SA (BR:UMI) added 0.57% or 0.21 points to end at 38.15 and Sofina (BR:SOF) was up 0.47% or 0.60 points to 126.95 in late trade.
Biggest losers included NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which lost 3.33% or 1.31 points to trade at 38.19 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 1.43% or 0.39 points to end at 26.59 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) shed 1.39% or 0.62 points to 44.00.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 67 to 45 and 8 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.86% or 11.02 to $1276.48 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.96% or 0.55 to hit $56.62 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 0.80% or 0.51 to trade at $63.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1656, while EUR/GBP fell 0.29% to 0.8830.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.11% at 94.32.
