Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Basic Materials and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.43% to hit a new 52-week low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 1.47% or 1.05 points to trade at 72.36 at the close. Telenet Group Holding NV (BR:TNET) added 0.91% or 0.42 points to end at 46.74 and UCB (BR:UCB) was up 0.86% or 0.60 points to 70.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 4.59% or 1.56 points to trade at 32.39 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 1.59% or 0.980 points to end at 60.520 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 1.51% or 1.50 points to 97.60.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 77 to 32 and 22 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.17% or 2.10 to $1231.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 1.79% or 1.19 to hit $67.62 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.20% or 0.92 to trade at $77.36 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.69% to 1.1393, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8834.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 96.12.
