Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.36%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Solvay SA (BR:SOLB), which rose 3.44% or 3.90 points to trade at 117.25 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 0.82% or 0.33 points to end at 40.38 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) was up 0.66% or 0.086 points to 13.102 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Umicore SA (BR:UMI), which lost 5.91% or 3.14 points to trade at 50.00 in late trade. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 2.06% or 0.44 points to end at 20.93 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) shed 1.85% or 1.780 points to 94.220.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 55 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.15% or 1.80 to $1223.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.57% or 1.10 to hit $69.03 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.95% or 0.72 to trade at $74.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.05% to 1.1700, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8915.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.16% at 94.29.
