Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 0.72% or 0.10 points to trade at 14.61 at the close. Sofina (BR:SOF) added 0.70% or 0.90 points to end at 130.20 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was up 0.70% or 0.27 points to 38.77 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 3.51% or 1.05 points to trade at 28.83 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.64% or 1.420 points to end at 85.220 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 1.57% or 1.65 points to 103.75.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 70 to 40 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 0.71 to $1278.01 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.22% or 0.12 to hit $54.42 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.21% or 0.13 to trade at $60.62 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.1661, while EUR/GBP rose 1.82% to 0.8932.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 94.61.
