Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which rose 1.08% or 0.170 points to trade at 15.925 at the close. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 0.91% or 0.42 points to end at 47.20 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 0.62% or 0.18 points to 29.30 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which lost 2.07% or 1.780 points to trade at 84.200 in late trade. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) declined 1.36% or 0.79 points to end at 57.38 and Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) shed 1.17% or 0.53 points to 44.27.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 73 to 40 and 19 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.28% or 3.63 to $1277.27 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.98% or 0.51 to hit $52.41 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.50% or 0.86 to trade at $58.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.12% to 1.1763, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.8968.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 93.82.
