Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Technology, Healthcare and Consumer Goods sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.23%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which rose 1.37% or 0.20 points to trade at 14.43 at the close. NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB) added 1.14% or 0.45 points to end at 39.37 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 1.02% or 0.24 points to 23.88 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which lost 3.83% or 5.75 points to trade at 144.50 in late trade. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) declined 1.68% or 1.440 points to end at 84.500 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) shed 1.07% or 0.33 points to 30.52.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 88 to 23 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.57% or 7.26 to $1290.26 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.31% or 0.68 to hit $51.36 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.63% or 0.95 to trade at $57.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.49% to 1.1845, while EUR/GBP rose 0.74% to 0.8992.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 93.02.
