Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Utilities, Healthcare and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were NV Bekaert SA (BR:BEKB), which rose 1.12% or 0.43 points to trade at 39.13 at the close. Umicore SA (BR:UMI) added 0.84% or 0.32 points to end at 37.94 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 0.78% or 0.670 points to 86.750 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Engie SA (PA:ENGIE), which lost 0.83% or 0.12 points to trade at 14.31 in late trade. KBC (BR:KBC) declined 0.73% or 0.520 points to end at 71.110 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) shed 0.70% or 0.21 points to 30.40.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 58 and 9 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.09% or 1.18 to $1305.78 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.86% or 0.44 to hit $51.89 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.60 to trade at $57.77 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.12% to 1.1808, while EUR/GBP fell 0.08% to 0.8891.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 93.00.
