Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Consumer Services, Industrial Engineering and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.19%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which rose 2.03% or 0.33 points to trade at 16.61 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 1.89% or 0.25 points to end at 13.45 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) was up 1.19% or 0.48 points to 40.85 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Aperam SA (AS:APAM), which lost 1.85% or 0.57 points to trade at 30.30 in late trade. Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) declined 1.82% or 1.83 points to end at 98.72 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 1.80% or 1.20 points to 65.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 66 to 49 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.60% or 7.40 to $1225.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December fell 0.64% or 0.43 to hit $66.61 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 1.09% or 0.84 to trade at $76.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.07% to 1.1364, while EUR/GBP rose 0.44% to 0.8929.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 96.62.
