Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Consumer Services and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 lost 0.08%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore SA (BR:UMI), which rose 1.51% or 0.73 points to trade at 48.96 at the close. Argen-X (BR:ARGX) added 1.09% or 0.80 points to end at 74.00 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.78% or 0.340 points to 44.010 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Telenet Group (BR:TNET), which lost 4.87% or 2.06 points to trade at 40.24 in late trade. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) declined 1.41% or 0.29 points to end at 20.32 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 1.12% or 0.140 points to 12.350.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 59 to 57 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.49% or 6.20 to $1262.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 3.26% or 2.22 to hit $70.30 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.03% or 1.51 to trade at $76.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.32% to 1.1667, while EUR/GBP rose 0.01% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.22.
