Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Healthcare, Consumer Goods and Telecoms sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.07%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Sofina (BR:SOF), which rose 1.10% or 1.60 points to trade at 147.60 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 0.48% or 0.24 points to end at 49.86 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) was up 0.47% or 0.10 points to 21.24 in late trade.
Biggest losers included UCB (BR:UCB), which lost 0.41% or 0.26 points to trade at 63.00 in late trade. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 0.18% or 0.024 points to end at 13.388 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) shed 0.08% or 0.02 points to 24.23.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 52 to 45 and 21 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.01% or 0.10 to $1322.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 0.53% or 0.38 to hit $70.98 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 0.23% or 0.18 to trade at $77.29 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.37% to 1.1959, while EUR/GBP rose 0.02% to 0.8814.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 92.31.
