Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Industrials and Basic Materials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 declined 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 3.71% or 2.27 points to trade at 63.49 at the close. Cofinimmo SA (BR:COFB) added 0.99% or 1.10 points to end at 112.00 and Ageas (BR:AGES) was up 0.86% or 0.340 points to 39.740 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which lost 1.99% or 1.90 points to trade at 93.70 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) declined 1.47% or 0.38 points to end at 25.44 and Umicore SA (BR:UMI) shed 1.25% or 0.46 points to 36.36.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 58 to 57 and 6 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.25% or 3.25 to $1290.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February fell 1.81% or 0.95 to hit $51.64 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract fell 1.77% or 1.09 to trade at $60.59 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.13% to 1.1482, while EUR/GBP fell 0.90% to 0.8936.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 95.148.
