Investing.com – Belgium equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 fell 0.02%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Umicore NV (BR:UMI), which rose 1.68% or 1.21 points to trade at 73.36 at the close. Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) added 0.93% or 0.95 points to end at 102.75 and Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB) was up 0.88% or 1.30 points to 149.70 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Proximus NV (BR:PROX), which lost 1.03% or 0.30 points to trade at 28.71 in late trade. Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR) declined 0.72% or 0.32 points to end at 44.35 and ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) shed 0.70% or 0.110 points to 15.585.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 61 to 55 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.17% or 2.17 to $1275.73 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.16% or 0.08 to hit $50.34 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 0.11% or 0.06 to trade at $55.94 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.16% to 1.1763, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8861.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 93.29.
