Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser-Busch Inbev SA (BR:ABI), which rose 1.82% or 1.76 points to trade at 98.30 at the close. Telenet Group (BR:TNET) added 1.76% or 0.86 points to end at 50.00 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) was up 1.52% or 1.60 points to 106.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ackermans V.Haaren (BR:ACKB), which lost 0.55% or 0.70 points to trade at 125.45 in late trade. Ageas (BR:AGES) declined 0.49% or 0.175 points to end at 35.470 and KBC (BR:KBC) shed 0.47% or 0.270 points to 56.670.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 58 and 11 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for December delivery was down 0.76% or 9.05 to $1180.25 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 3.29% or 1.58 to hit $46.38 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract fell 3.16% or 1.55 to trade at $47.45 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.36% to 1.0592, while EUR/GBP rose 0.38% to 0.8511.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.22% at 101.55.
