Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Healthcare and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 rose 1.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which rose 4.59% or 2.90 points to trade at 66.10 at the close. bpost NV (BR:BPOST) added 3.00% or 0.39 points to end at 13.40 and Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) was up 2.90% or 2.460 points to 87.200 in late trade.
Biggest losers included ING Groep NV (AS:INGA), which added 0.30% or 0.032 points to trade at 10.830 in late trade. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 0.68% or 0.08 points to end at 11.83 and Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) gained 1.26% or 0.22 points to 17.70.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 79 to 28 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.13% or 1.60 to $1231.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $71.86 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.35% or 0.28 to trade at $81.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.06% to 1.1587, while EUR/GBP fell 0.26% to 0.8780.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.08% at 94.69.
