Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Healthcare, Utilities and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 added 1.11%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG), which rose 3.53% or 2.510 points to trade at 73.570 at the close. Engie SA (PA:ENGIE) added 1.84% or 0.25 points to end at 13.81 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 1.44% or 0.42 points to 30.04 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Etablissementen Fr Colruyt NV (BR:COLR), which lost 0.01% or 0.01 points to trade at 47.58 in late trade. Aperam SA (AS:APAM) added 0.11% or 0.04 points to end at 41.87 and Umicore NV (BR:UMI) gained 0.39% or 0.25 points to 64.22.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 83 to 30 and 12 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.30% or 3.84 to $1290.16 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 1.23% or 0.60 to hit $48.22 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.44% or 0.75 to trade at $51.35 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1783, while EUR/GBP fell 0.11% to 0.9077.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.30% at 93.27.
