Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Utilities and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.91%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were KBC (BR:KBC), which rose 2.12% or 1.320 points to trade at 63.700 at the close. Galapagos NV (AS:GLPG) added 2.03% or 1.680 points to end at 84.340 and Proximus NV (BR:PROX) was up 1.99% or 0.40 points to 20.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Argen-X (BR:ARGX), which lost 3.47% or 2.70 points to trade at 75.00 in late trade. Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX) declined 1.21% or 0.23 points to end at 18.77 and Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI) shed 0.18% or 0.14 points to 77.39.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 63 to 49 and 18 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.10% or 1.20 to $1201.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 0.37% or 0.25 to hit $67.50 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.30% or 0.23 to trade at $77.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.43% to 1.1603, while EUR/GBP fell 0.38% to 0.8910.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 95.07.
