Investing.com – Belgium equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Brussels, the BEL 20 gained 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the BEL 20 were Anheuser Busch Inbev SA NV (BR:ABI), which rose 2.42% or 2.01 points to trade at 85.21 at the close. Proximus NV (BR:PROX) added 2.04% or 0.52 points to end at 26.06 and bpost NV (BR:BPOST) was up 2.03% or 0.56 points to 28.12 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Ontex Group (BR:ONTEX), which lost 0.69% or 0.18 points to trade at 25.96 in late trade. Umicore SA (BR:UMI) declined 0.21% or 0.10 points to end at 47.08 and Solvay SA (BR:SOLB) shed 0.18% or 0.20 points to 112.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 45 and 16 ended unchanged on the Brussels Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.01% or 0.10 to $1355.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in March rose 0.68% or 0.42 to hit $61.76 a barrel, while the April Brent oil contract rose 1.09% or 0.70 to trade at $65.03 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.2439, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8854.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.44% at 88.86.
